Also... Would it be possible to add permissions for the different ad-placements?

 

For example, the inside first post right ad placement only viewed by logged in members and the under first post only viewed by guests?

The upgrade is going smoothly. And I could possibly change that to where you can have permissions at both locations. And the upgrade process is at a halt right now as I am currently out of town.

Thats probably an error with your servers PHP configuration. I'm not quite sure though. I've never seen that error before, so I can't give a correct answer.

I need to change the above row names (Group, Posts, Joined) to a different language.

 

Second question: Do you plan to add options allowing to configure any types of banners like animated/static gifs or flash?

Hello,

 

1.) Those can be changed in the ACP under Look & Feel -> Select Skin -> Topic View -> hookTopicGlobalAds3

 

2.) These features won't be implemented as they are in my other mod, (NG30) Rotating Banners. In this mod, you'll have three options;

1. Rotating - Images change on page load at random.
   
2. Fading - Images fade from one another on the same page.
   
3. Custom - You define your own custom scripts. You are allowed to use any type of script such as FLASH, SWF, & WMP and many others. These are just examples.

I saw in the Shoutbox that 1.3.3 gives IP.Downloads some errors. I have IP Downloads 2.1 installed, but not turned on. However, I want to turn it on very soon and still use the Global Ads. Is there a way for a quick fix to correct the errors with IP.Downloads 2.1 since don't know when IPS will be releasing new IP.Blog and IP.Gallery stable releases yet. It would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I was just thinking this about an ago, I was probably just think about going ahead with a maintenance release anyway for IP.Downloads 2.1 so that members who do upgrade to IP.D 2.1 will still be able to my mod and IP.D at the same time. I'll probably do the maintenance release sometime tomorrow. :)

Yeap! :) Looks like it! But I haven't finished the gallery features yet. I haven't worked on the gallery in a long time. So, for now, I'll just go a IP.Downloads maintenance release. I couldn't get it to yesterday. I got busy with other stuff. It won't take me too long to do a maintenance release. :)

It'll be awhile before third party apps are included in the mod. And I have some stuff in mind for the third party apps that I plan to do. But I plan on getting IP.Gallery done sometime, and once it is, the next things to get added are the Community Projects. I also have a few plans for custom requests that I can do for the mod for a small fee, if that is something you want to do to get IP.Links added sooner.

The Gallery isn't quite finished. I've been doing it on and off for the last 2 months until 3.1.0 was released final, and when I did the maintenance release, I must've forgotten about the Gallery sections. But those Gallery sections work properly on my dev board. Not sure why it wouldn't on yours... I'll see what I can do k.

In the System Settings of 1.4.1, in the Topic Index Settings, I get this:

 

Select Posts To Show Ads

(UN-USABLE)

Selectable Post Counts for Ads to show after.

This is setting is optimized for a 20 post count topic.

Post counts are in increments of 10.

The post counts that have a "1" in them are optimized for the start of a new 20 count page.

 

Is this disabled in this version? Or is it something I have wrong in the installation? Also could you clarify what it actually does? Thank you.

Yes, that function is currently disabled and is under development at the moment. But I have come across some technical issues with it; it currently only shows the ads on the first page of a topic; it loses its pagination. But with the new IP.Board 3.1, it might be possible to use that feature to its full extent that I extend it to do. :)

 

And for what it does, it's supposed to show ads after the number of posts you choose. It choose to show ads after post 30, and ad will be placed after post number 30, ect. :)

Yeah, and the ability to tap into the topicViewTemplate data variable, which should come in handy for my topic ads. I'll need to read up on those sections and learn how to do it. :)
