  1. It is good to see you back in the chair coding. I will see if I can get you some feedback on the new beta version. You are damn good! I know we do not see eye to eye on alot of subjects but you are one of the best coders out there for IPS and supporting your apps. Invision has to code for the Macro environment while you can focus on one small factor or addition and do it better. From my initiial looks at the beta that looks exactly like what you have done once again. I will try and get you some more feedback this weekend once I get everything upgraded and edited. I had some personal problems so I am my self trying to get back into a hobby site and force my way back to the top. Thanks for the Rant!
  2. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the 3.1 release.
  3. Ebay can produce banner ads like google but you will not have some of the luxeries like you do the google ads. You will get the pre-defined sizes but you will maybe have to just define a template or something for us to just insert our codes would help? Another option is if we belong to more than one ad network would be to rotate the ads between the options. Google, YPN and ebay all use the standard banner sizes. Can you rotate what ads are placed so they are not all google, YPN or Ebay ads but a mixture of each on pages? We could then see what ads produce the best results and then target the ads in a particular spot to produce the best revenue from the selected ad network in a later revision or something. Ebay produces better results in my Tech forums for people looking for parts and supplies while on the forum as a whole, generic google ads produce the best results for people looking for new printers and copy machines. I understand these are not options you can code overnight but rather an idea to stay ahead and as you look for revisions and additions to options these would provide an incentive to purchase your sysetm over a standard IPB solution of targeting only one network or only one pre-defined banner size in a particular area of the forum.
  4. I noticed that you were discussing your ad sysetm and IPB wanting to implement their own ad sysetm as a default for IPB 3.1 I would say to stay ahead of the game. If IPB implements their sysetm like vBulletin did theirs it will be limited in scale plus I got more without their sysetm than I did once it was implemented on some forums. With the sysetm for Vbulletin it was aimed at a wide range of forums and was meant for a wide audience. your attention to listening to your customers is in my opinion your greatest asset. While you can code for your customers, IPB must code for all customers that purchase IPB as a whole. I Noticed you had widgetbucks and YPN networks as well as google ads. May I also recomend implementing ebay? I have not owned your sysetm for long. I like the layout and the feature set you have included thus far and look forward to what you plan for the future. I have not looked at widget in a long time. I will take a look at what they have to offer us.
