  9. Hello, I've been doing some work on getting an update ready for the 2.2.0 version of my Global Ads mod which will add support for your members to add their own Advert code to a select section of your board. Current sections available are IP.Blog: Blog Homepage, Blog Entries. IP.Downloads File Display. IP.Gallery Image View: Below Copyright notice and In the Right side column. In Topic View, inside first post or below first post. In Tutorials, article view, by Michael McCune. In Videos, video view, by Michael John. And is a video of it in action for the File Display view of IP.Downloads: I have more stuff planned for this release of the mod. Currently I have an AdminCP page setup for groups and members. The ACP member form allows for banning a particular member from using the mod, along with two other settings for allowing a person to use HTML in the mod for a third party advert company, if they can bypass the bad word filter in their promotion message. The group ACP form allows you to configure if the whole group can use HTML in the mod or bypass the bad word filters. There will also be support for Kontera in-text ads. This is something I'll need to work on to properly implement for the user and admins to use alongside each other without complications. I hope you will enjoy this upcoming update and the teaser video! xP As always, update eta's are not disclosed as I do not always have time to get an update out by a particular time or date. Enjoy!! http://content.community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png -Don http://content.community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png View the full article at IPS

  14. I am pleased to introduce my latest application, the Form Manager. The idea for a form manager first came about during the early days of development for Contact System. With each update to the Contact System came the ability to setup different alerts per subject and eventually the ability to add custom fields. The Form Manager is the next step in this development. What is the Form Manager? The Form Manager is a new application that has been completely rewritten but the idea and features are based on the Contact System. Instead of just the 1 contact form that was present with the Contact System, with the ability to add subjects and custom fields. The Form Manager allows you to setup multiple forms, with each form still allowing email, pm and topic alerts. And the ability to add custom fields to that form. Why make a Form Manager? Since starting the Contact System in 2005 more and more interest has occurred around using the Contact System for different type of forms. Subsequent updates have allowed the Contact System to be more then a simple feedback form. But to meet the demand of multiple forms, I decide the best way would be a complete re-write of everything was needed in a new application. And a converter tool that would convert the Contact System data to the Form Manager. This allows the transition from the Contact System to Form Manager to be done more slowly and not forced upon customers with an update. What about the Contact System? All Contact System customers will automatically be upgraded to the Form Manager for free. But to fulfill my obligations to those who purchased before today, the Contact System will still be offered as an extra download to the Form Manager. I will still offer support, issue bug fixes and updates for new versions of IPB. Updates will continue like normal. As it's been in development for the last several years, I am very much aware a lot of long term customers are still using it. For this reason I will not have a fixed date on when the Contact System will become EOL (End of life). Obviously I won't be supporting both indefinitely but the transition will be slow and allow time for everyone. What are the differences with the Contact System? You can view the products page of the Form Manager to view the differences between the latest version of the Contact System and Form Manager. There are a few minor changes due to technical and coding reasons. But subsequent updates to the Form Manager will close that gap. The Form Manager does however have several new features that are not present in the Contact System. There has also been a price increase for the Form Manager. This is in part due to the major increase in features and ability of the Form Manager and also reflects that the Contact System price hasn't changed for some years now. http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=downloads&module=display&section=screenshot&id=4129 (M33) Form Manager 1.0.1 Category: Applications Last Updated Yesterday, 02:36 AM View my other modifications here. 17. Duplicate Members Logger v3.0.0 Duplicate Members Logger logs, using a Flash cookie, and reports members who use multiple accounts from the same computer to access your IP.Board community. The use of a Flash cookie makes the application a cross-browser solution to deal with "ghost" members, as it detects and reports them even if they use one browser for each registered account or even after they clear their browser's cache. In version 3.0.0 of the application many and great enhancements have been added, and all existing features have been greatly improved to make the application an even more robust solution to deal with such situations. New account registration control: The detection of a duplicate account now begins at its registration. Through the appropriate setting, you can choose among allowing a duplicate account registration, allowing it but immediately banning it, or completely prohibiting its creation. ACP feature Log-in as member: With IP.Board 3.2 a new feature was introduced as a tool to help admins assist members of their community. This was the Log-in as member feature, which as a side-effect confused the application that reported the admin as a duplicate of the members the admin logged in as. This was of course not a bug of the application. It was a situation it was not programmed to deal with. The new version however can detect and ignore the use of this feature very efficiently. PM notifications: You can now, with a click of a button, send a PM to all members of each duplicate group notifying them that you know about their actions and asking them for an explanation. Actually, the content of the PM is even configurable through the appropriate setting. Integration in Edit Member page: The application embeds perfectly within the Edit member page in ACP. A new tab, labeled Duplicate Members Logger, is added where you can set/unset a member as Excluded to control whether they will further produce duplicate reports or not. Additionally, you can view/edit the machine IDs of the machines each member has used to access your community. Integration in Moderator CP: The application also embeds in Moderator CP to show registration attempts that came from computers that were previously used by other accounts to access your community. This module splits the attempts in two categories: Registration attempts that resulted in a banned account and Registration attempts that were completely rejected (based on the setting mentioned above). Additionally, through the appropriate setting you can choose who can view this section of Modedator CP. You can choose between Administrators only, or Administrators and Moderators. Finally, an alert similar to the community's stock Report center alert is triggered whenever such new attempts are detected. Application Overview: This section displays an overview of statistics, as well as the application's status. The statistics have been improved and include: Unique Machines With One Member/With Multiple Members and also Unique Members From One Machine/From Multiple Machines. These, while seemingly unimportant, can let you understand the habits of your members. In two words, they display the number of unique machines and members that have accessed your community. Additionally, they are now visually represented with the appropriate charts. Typically, these stats do not include Excluded members, but should you need to count them as well, you can do that by clicking the appropriate button. Duplicates Management: Maybe the greatest improvement of the application is the way it deals with duplicate accounts. Through a complex but lightweight algorithm, it groups all accounts that used the same computer to access your community, and presents them in a list. Scenario: Member A logs in the community from Machine A. Member B logs in the community from Machine B. Member C, who normally logs in the community from Machine C, logs in once from Machine A and once from Machine B. This will result in showing Member A, Member B and Member C as a Duplicate Group, with Member C being the link between Member A and Member B. For any such duplicate group, a number of options is available. You can either Exclude, Ban/Unban, or Delete any single member, and there are also mass options, like Notify All (through a PM) the whole group, Ban All/Unban All, or Delete All by clicking the appropriate button. Finally, there may be cases where a member incidentally has to log into the community from a computer that is normally used by another member (i.e., they are friends, etc). Those will be reported as duplicates in the application. However, you may not completely trust them to mark any/both as excluded. In such cases, you can now remove the machine ID from the system that links the members together, thus removing the duplicate itself. The machine ID of course will be reinserted in the system the next time it is used by any of the members to access the community but it will now correspond to just one of them. You can find which machine was used by each member through hovering with your mouse over each machine ID. Exclusions Management: This section has also undergone improvements. Actually, the way exclusions work has completely changed. You do not exclude pairs of members anymore. You exclude single members, and those members will never again trigger a duplicate report, no matter how many accounts they create. Thus, it is advised to use this feature carefully and only exclude trusted members. Settings: Here you can set the settings of the application to tailor it to the needs of your community. Attention: This application installs a Flash cookie on your members' computers. It will not catch duplicates coming from environments where Adobe Flash is unavailable. Attention: v3.0.0 of the application will not be able to use already stored duplicates from v2.0.0 as they work totally differently. Attention: Be sure to download the appropriate version of the application according to your IP.Board version. View the full article at IPS Resources
  18. I'm pleased to announce the release of the next major version of TracDown, 1.2.0! After carefully listening and taking on board a lot of feedback from TracDown customers, I've jam packed a lot of new features into this release, along with the usual sprinkling of Bug Fixes. http://community.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=downloads&module=display&section=screenshot&id=5697 TracDown 1.2.0 Category: Applications Last Updated A minute ago TracDown is a fully featured Bug Tracker. Helping you to Track Down your bugs. TracDown makes bug tracking very easy, and was designed with the user in mind. You can perform otherwise complex tasks with only a few clicks. What's New in TracDown 1.2.0? New Moderation Menu In TracDown 1.2 I've added quite a few new moderation features, such as "Hide", "Delete" and "Lock" issue. In 1.1 I had the issue tools in the issue itself. This felt cramped with so many options, and so I have created the new Moderation Tools Menu. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-moderate-menu.png Similar to the Forums Moderation Tools menu, this should help you with moderating issues. Assign Issue to Staff Member A common thing to do in Software Development is to Assign a particular issue to a member of staff. here at IPS they have a new severity for this, "Confirmed - FAO Matt". I thought this was a little wasteful (and it also gives Matt more work http://content.community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png), and came up with this feature. You have the option to Assign an issue to a Staff Member (controlled in the usergroup settings), when creating or editting an issue. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-issue-assign.png You can also re-assign and unassign an issue from the issue itself http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-issue-assign-changer.png The Staff Member will recieve a notification saying that they've been assigned that issue, and will also be able to view all of their assigned issues from a new page. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-issue-assign-notification.png http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-assigned-to-me.png New Overview Page Since it's inception, TracDown has had two tabs which do exactly the same. Overview and Unconfirmed. These tabs both listed all of the unconfirmed issues, and occasionally caused an indirect issue where the Unconfirmed Severity had been removed. TracDown 1.2.0 rectifies this with the introduction of a brand new Overview tab. I believe that an Overview should be exacltly that. An "at a glance" overview of what is happening in that category. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-overview.png Each Category has it's own Overview, complete with the latest activity on issues, the latest issues and a graph which charts the number of issues which have been fixed in that version. Issue Management from the AdminCP An oft requested feature for TracDown has been a page which lists 'All Issues' where you can manage everything at once, regardless of category, version, severity, etc. While I'd wanted to implement something akin to this for quite a while, it simply wasn't feasible on the front end, where people had requested this. Enter the Issue Manager. Where better to manage all of your issues in one place, than in the AdminCP? The new page lists the version, severity, category of the issue, and allows you to edit the issue and delete it if needed. Timeline Management Again listening to user feedback, I've added a timeline management module to the AdminCP. This is handy in case you accidentally mark something as "Fixed" when it is not, and you do not wish to clutter up your Issue Timeline with rectifying that mistake. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-timeline-manager.png Simply input the ID of the Issue timeline you wish to manage, and you'll be taken to a screen where you can remove the offending entries. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-timeline-management.png Automatically Post Issues to a Forum Another requested feature was that all issues be posted to a forum on creation, and I've added this in TracDown 1.2.0. This is a feature which could be useful for an 'Archive' forum, where you can put all issues, or a staff forum where you can discuss the issue in private amongst staff. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-post-to-forum.png It is of course enabled by a setting, as with most things in TracDown, if you do not wish to use it, simply keep it disabled. http://content.community.invisionpower.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png Generate List of "Fixed In This Version" A feature which I noticed a lot of members missed when IPS migrated from Tracker to IP.Content was this feature, the "Generate Report of Fixed Issues in this version". I see the merit in such a feature in a bug tracker, and have incorporated this as a feature in TracDown 1.2.0. To generate a new issue, simply select the new tab which is added below the Severities Tabs on the Categories, and choose your version. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-generate-list-fixedin.png This will then generate a list of fixed issues, complete with links to the issues and titles of the issues. There is an optional setting on this page to "Toggle Links", so as to only post a list of fixed issues without links to those issues. This is useful for private bug trackers for public projects. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-fixedin-report.png Versions AdminCP Area Redesigned! After much deliberation and again, taking user feedback on board, I've given some much needed attention to the Versions area of the AdminCP. In previous versions of TracDown, the Versions page could get quite long and unwieldy. I have addressed this by separating versions by their categories in a tabbed layout. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-versions-acp.png Issue Previews Another thing which was requested was Issue Previews, similar to those of the Forums own "Topic Previews". I have added this to TracDown 1.2.0, making it easier to see more information about the issue 'at a glance'. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-issue-preview.png Of course, this feature can be enabled and disabled via a setting in the AdminCP. UserCP Integration In keeping with TracDown's close integration to IP.Board, I've now implemented UserCP settings. Right now there is only the one setting: Whether to Auto-Follow an issue when posting it, but I hope to add more settings based on user feedback in future. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-usercp.png Child Categories Update Since 1.1.0 TracDown has had Child Categories. In 1.1.0 you could access those via a dropdown menu. While this saved space, I did not believe this is practical, so for 1.2, I have changed it so that Child Categories now display on a secondary filter bar, similar to the main categories. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-child-cats.png Create Issues on behalf of members Again listening to user feedback, I've added a type-ahead field on the Add Issue form, where Staff Members can create an issue on behalf of another user. http://mikey.junkput.com/trac-1.2-create-issue-on-behalf-of-users.png Tracker Importer Update & URL Redirection Now included with TracDown is a Tools directory. 19. Attention: Be sure to download the appropriate version of the app according to your IP.Board version. View the full article at IPS Resources
  20. I have once again re added all 3.1.4 Version Skin Themes to my forum. All members may download any of the 3.1.4 themes free. They support all additional add-on at the time of 3.1.4. They do not support any further latest version for IP Board. Please note that if you download any of the themes made available including holidays, seasonal, mixed and black they are not going to be supported in any fashion as they are EOL (End of Life) and I am only offering them as a courtesy to the members. 21. You would go to ACP -> Look & Feel -> Select Skin -> skin_ng30globalads -> hookTopicGlobalAds3 and find the line: <span style="color:cyan;">Ad Bots</span> Also, I just noticed this as well when looking up the ad bot color; you may want to change the ID tag in this line to something different just incase you may have a post with the same ID as the bot post: <div class='post_block hentry clear clearfix ' id='post_id_478'> Probably change to id='adbot'. As for the secondary groups, I'll need to change that in order for it to only check primary groups. Right now it is hardcoded as checking both primary and secondary groups. In my next version of the mod I'll add a settng that allows you to change the groups checking perms. -Don :)
